It’s time to share an update on the state of things. It’s been a very busy year, full of ups and downs, but we hope this finds everyone doing well and gives you plenty to look forward to.
The New Shop.
We built the new shop from a completely blank slate; no walls, minimal power, nothing. We poured significant time and money into creating a space purpose-built for Powder Bed Fusion / Selective Laser Sintering. Once it was ready, we moved in our trusted two-year-old machine and a used machine we planned to bring online.
Unfortunately, the used machine needed more work than expected (including custom parts that have been hard to source), and our main production machine was damaged by a power surge on Labor Day. That incident took our manufacturing offline. We’ve continued shipping from stock and working nonstop on solutions, but we’ve had no active production since then.
The good news? We just returned from a very successful trip to another SLS manufacturer. We’re purchasing two brand-new machines that will give us more than double our previous capacity. These are fully supported by the manufacturer, and they’re expediting delivery. We expect them to ship within the next 10 business days.
New Website
Many of you have asked about the missing “In Stock Notification” button. We temporarily disabled it while we migrate to a new, much-improved website platform. The new site will look familiar but will offer better catalogs, faster checkout, and smoother notifications. We’ll re-enable sign-ups as soon as the migration is complete.
We had a wonderful 250-year Independence Day celebration and loved seeing all your photos of our stocks in action. The feedback we’ve received has us genuinely excited about the future of Hamre Forge.
